Not always. Most illnesses are caused by viral infections, not bacterial ones. Prescribing antibiotics for viral infections can actually worsen a patient’s condition, as antibiotics eliminate both good and bad bacteria. Some beneficial bacteria play a key role in supporting the immune system, helping it to fight off the virus effectively.

We are currently accepting Blue cross blue shield, Presbyterian, Cigna, Aetna, Medicaid, Medicare,United Healthcare, Humana and Molina. 

We are unable to accept Tricare due to the individual insurance companies not being willing to work with us. You can call the number on the back of your insurance to speak with them regarding their willingness to contract with us. 

Please also be aware if you are a UNMH employee we are not able to take BCBS for UNMH employees. 

We accept walk-ins until one hour before closing. Walk-in visits are reserved for acute illnesses and concerns. Chronic conditions, such as hypertension, require a scheduled appointment so we can provide a complete evaluation and appropriate follow-up care. Please understand that unexpected medical situations may occasionally cause delays.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling the clinic at 505-492-2541 or by clicking the schedule button at the top navigation bar or at the bottom of the web page. 

We will not discuss health related issues outside of the clinic. This is to ensure that our staff get needed time off to rest. This is also important to protect your privacy to ensure no one else can access your medical information.  We will not respond to facebook messages, text messages, or phone calls of any other form of communication regarding your health. Please make an appointment to be seen so we can ensure you are getting the medical care you need.
